Building past memories


So, since this is a first prototype/proof of concept, I was going for the basics:

  • modeling a half-decent xylophone
  • importing it into Unity without breaking it (sounds silly but I've struggled with this in the past)
  • adding the sticks to play the xylophone with
  • taking care of colliders, triggers, and colliders with triggers 
  • picking collision between the sticks and the wooden pieces
  • writing a script (attached to the wooden pieces) that catches the collision and plays the sound
  • assigning each wooden piece its specific tone
  • minor fixes and hacks here and there
